I was out of AC for two weeks in the beginning of May. Several days were *promised* it would be taken care of by the end of that day. I put my dogs in my room so they would not bother or interrupt the maintenance staff and shut all my windows and doors before going to work, as I was promised my air would be fixed by the time I got home that night. I came home to no note left saying they fixed it, worked on it, or were even there.. and they are required to leave a written notice when they enter your apartment and attend your work order. I came home and it was 85 degrees in my apartment with no ventilation for my animals. Called emergency maintenance and they refused to come because they considered it was too late and wasn't considered an emergency unless it was above 85 degrees outside. I went off on the staff and Vee called me for the first time on her own to handle the situation like a manager should just to tell me I couldn't talk to her staff disrespectfully, and it wasn't that hot out... meanwhile I'm on the second story where heat also rises. She never once even acknowledged that the agreement and promise of my air being fixed wasn't met and she never once apologized for the inconvenience. Then three days later they finally left a portable unit while I was at work, where she assured me she stayed long enough to turn it on and make sure it was working properly... and didn't even give me the funnel tube or window parts to ventilate the carbon monoxide coming out of the back fan. So she left me a portable unit blowing out HOT CARBON MONOXIDE in my apartment and never told me about the other parts or apologized later when I realized my apartment wasn't cooling down because I wasn't given all the necessary parts. When I confronted her about this she gave told me I had a ten day notice to move out, then left a notice at my door saying I had until the end of the month with a new lease agreement move out date. However, in the lease it states a move out date cannot be changed unless agreed in writing by both the property manager AND the tenant. So she tried to pull that one but I responded to her what the lease states and how I wouldn't be moving or signing anything until I had other living affairs in order and she didn't respond. I have reached out to the Blue Springs City Hall, the public/community living department at the Missouri attorney general's office.. not because I will benefit from it as I'm moving out in a month, but because the people in this apartment community deserve better. This company takes full advantage of low income individuals and families that don't have the money to carry out a private case against them and little resources to change anything. No one should have to pay several hundreds of dollars in rent to be taken care of so poorly. That's exactly why people rent, so they don't have to deal with those problems, and they shouldn't have to. They will charm you and go above and beyond to get you to sign a lease but as soon as you do it's downhill from there. I'm writing this review to warn people like me looking for a decent cheap apartment with amenities.... DO NOT LIVE HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
